September, October (and then November and December) were extremely busy months for us!
Obviously, it was really busy because we’re finishing up from August… let’s get through October though today.
October by far was our busiest month.
Canadian Thanksgiving is in October.
It wasn’t our traditional Thanksgiving though. We made due, as we could and enjoyed a meal together.
This year, we were thankful for everyone being in relatively good health, we were also thankful for our friends and our families.
The Ontario Colleges also went on strike in October. This delayed E’s schooling and he just finished up his first semester in January.
At the end of the month, I visited the Soo with my friend D. Adventures included… Evan and Dee visiting the museum, eating tasty food and watching the new Stranger Things season marathon style! We had a lot of fun!
On to E!:
October! 10 months down and two to go. 2017 has been a dark year for many people and sadly it’s not over yet. As L already pointed out the College had gone on strike 2 weeks into the month. The good news? I had a physics test on the Monday that I wasn’t super ready for. The bad news? This could have been the end of the semester as we know it.
Thankfully, in the beginning of the month, L came down for a visit. We did some sightseeing at the Sault Locks. The weather was still great during L’s visit. We did some cooking and ate cake (swiftly becoming a tradition in the Soo) but as all good things do, it had to come to an end.
For Thanksgiving I flew home for a memorial service that I talked about in a past entry. it was good to see people that I have lost touch with and see friends but was probably the worst try home to date or ever. L and I didn’t have a holiday dinner but managed to have sushi with friends. The trip home was quick and I was only home for the weekend and then had to fly home.
Saw this beauty on the way home from work one day. Gotta love the Soo…
I think L and I can agree that October’s theme was “travel”. I wasn’t even back two weeks and L came to visit but this time she brought a good friend with her. I think tall three of us needed a break from the real world at this point. While here we went to the Museum, saw a movie and did some shopping with D. Sadly we didn’t make it to the Bush Plane Heritage Centre but that Just means D has to come back for another visit. D stayed with us for an extended weekend before L and D drove back to Thunder Bay in the first couple days of November.
Aside from travel, what else did I get up to?
